PAPJA (Psychological Association of the Philippines Junior Affiliates)

Hey guys! I don't want to bore you with my study and educational stuffs what I'm going to share is my experience being in this field, psychology. Welcome to my world and I hope you will continue to read this post :)

Last January 23-25, 2015 we went to manila to attend a national convention of Psychology majors that is conducted by the Psychological Association of the Philippines. This convention aims to unite all Psychology students and professors who has a common goal and that is to be aware of the different changes that is happening to the field of Psychology, that’s why the PAP come up to a theme “Psychology and Asian Societies in the Midst of Change” that best describes what is happening to our chosen field. The recently board examination of psychology indicates that the field of psychology had gone a long way from a non-board course to a regulated profession. On the first day of the convention PAP invited different plenary speakers who are credible enough to share their experiences and triumphs by the help of their chosen profession psychology. One speaker named Rex Bernardo caught my attention.

He exemplify the true meaning of success because despite of his disability he was able to finish his studies and garnered different awards because of his drive to pursue his professional career. He did not only finish one degree he was able to pursue 3 degrees which inspired many of the audience including me. He shared different power tips to be successful in life first is control your thoughts he cited that we are makers of our own thought even though it is positive or negative, second is manage your emotions. As individuals we are the chief of our own lives we can manipulate our own emotions.

Third tip is have a plan, life is like building a house in order for your dreams to come true you must built a firm foundation so that no one can ever destruct and take that dream away from you. The fourth tip is dream big. Because of this tip I envisioned that what I dreamt of is what I will get in the future. The fifth tip he said is Prioritize! Prioritize! Prioritize! In this tip it is emphasized that we must learn how to manage our activities from the most priority to lease priority. The sixth tip he imparted is that success is all about perspective; this tip is much related to me because as a psychology student I must be able to make my own perspective for me to be unique and find out my own strategies to make my goals attainable. The Last lesson I learned from Mr. Bernardo is “Who you are is what you attract.” If you are an optimistic person you will attract people who are also optimistic and if you are filled with negativity you will also find people who are pessimistic.

These insights are powerful, for me personally I think we can all use these to live a fruitful life and for us to achieve our goals no matter how big or how hard it is. Let us all be motivated to make our path towards the place  called SUCCESS.
